MBR or MBR Membrane stands for Membrane Bioreactor and this whole word refers to a wastewater process. It is a combination process. In this process, both filtration processes microfiltration and ultrafiltration are integrated with a biological wastewater treatment process to clean the water for Sewage Treatment Plant, Wastewater Treatment Plant, or for Wastewater Treatment Project. This integrated process works like a suspended growth reactor. This MBR membrane is now widely used all over the world for municipal and industrial wastewater treatment. Just like microfiltration and ultrafiltration, all the commercial MBR processes use MBR filter membrane for filtration that separates the solid matter from the water that includes the bacteria, viruses, fungi, algae, and other kinds of big molecules. This filtration results in disinfectant and somehow pathogen-free purified water that can be repurposed. The MBR membrane process is a kind of conventional activated sludge (CAS) system but not completely as in conventional activated sludge (CAS), they use a secondary clarifier but in MBR, the membrane does a pretty good job.
Why MBR is better?
